Patty of culture!

Today we received a letter from a local fish and chip shop asking us to design them a new patty to sell in their shop to celebrate The City of Culture 2017. We researched about how patties were made and what they were usually made from. Then we taste tested lots of different ingredients to decide which ones we were going to use in our own patties. Some we loved, some we....well.... let's say they ended up in the bin! We're really looking forward to making the real thing later on this week.

Hull Fair Food!

In literacy this week we are writing poems based on the sights and smells of Hull Fair. To get us in the mood we tried some samples of the different foods that you may get to taste at the fair such as doughnuts, fudge, candy floss and hot dogs. Delicious!! After all of that nibbling, we came up with some great adjectives to describe the different foods such as creamy, crunchy, stretchy and fluffy.

Today in maths some of us were solving problems linked to Hull Fair. We used our skills to work out the weight of different hot dogs using trial and error. It was tricky but we got there in the end! Can you solve the problem?
